Week 2: April 18-24, 2022
A good week for the Rays as they go 4-2 and improve to 9-7. Both losses came courtesy of the bullpen as on the 19th the loss to Chicago came after Brandon Lowe hit another clutch homer, a 2-run shot to give them the lead in the top of the 9th before Jeffrey Springs gave up 3 in the bottom of the 9th. In the other loss to Boston they had a 3-2 lead after 6 before JT Chargois gave up 3 runs. We had injuries galore with Wander Franco suffering a herniated disc which will put him out for 5 more days but not enough to IL, Manuel Margot sprained an ankle which did send him to the IL and we called up Vidal Brujan, and most significantly Josh Lowe broke a bone in his elbow and he's out 4 1/2 months. Lars Nootbaar was recalled in his stead, leaving up temporarily with Brett Phillips as our only true CF.
