Dustin May a 4-0 lead after an inning but he couldn't hold it as his poor 2027 postseason continued, and the bats only managed 3 hits after that first inning as Detroit came back for a 7-4 win to get a leg up in the ALCS. They did put two on in the 9th to bring the tying run to the plate but Detroit closer Josh Swales' 80 stuff is hard to hit, and he struck out
Heston Kjerstad and
Alex Kirilloff to end the game.
JT Ginn will try to shake off his miserable ALDS outing to get the Rays even tomorrow, as what the Rays did last year to Detroit in the ALCS isn't really replicable.
Meanwhile it's all Atlanta in the NLCS:
