Walkers news: Oct. 1 -- Hermosillo decides to remain in St. Louis
The St. Louis River Walkers have signed 31-year-old left-handed relief pitcher Leo Hermosillo to a two-year contract extension.
Both seasons are worth $6 million, but the 2039 season does feature a team option.
The Walkers acquired Hermosillo in a July 3 trade with the Chicago G-Men.
The G-Men received left-handed relief Keith Kirby and minor-league outfielder Guillermo Sanchez in the deal.
In 32 games this season for St. Louis, Hermosillo has gone 1-1 with three saves and a 1.95 ERA in 27.2 innings. He has struck out 36 and posted a 0.87 WHIP.
For his career, Hermosillo has pitched 447 games since making the majors in 2029 with Kansas City.
He owns a 39-38 record with a 3.13 ERA and 62 saves.
Hermosillo pitched in Kansas City until 2036.
He spent the 2036 and 2037 seasons in Cleveland, before signing with Chicago in the offseason.
