Walkers news: Oct. 4 -- Louisville 4, St. Louis 3

Record: 91-71, 3rd, 7 GB Springfield
St. Louis reliever Juan Munoz issued three walks in the top of the ninth inning -- including one with the bases loaded to Jorge Alvarado to drive in the tie-breaking run -- as Louisville defeated St. Louis 4-3 in the regular-season finale for both teams at Busch Stadium (2006).
Pinch-hitter Antonio Quevedo led off the inning with a single off Munoz.
After Munoz retired the next two, he issued walks to Willie Miranda and Chris Ring to load the bases.
Alvarado then worked to a 3-2 count, and when the ninth pitch of the at bat was ruled out of the zone, Quevedo came home with the winning run.
Prior to the ninth, the Sluggers did all their scoring with solo homers off River Walkers starting pitcher Ming Xiang.
Chris Ring went deep in both the first, leading off the game, and later in the fifth.
Ring finished with 18th homers on the season.
Sean Nettles hit his 15th of the campaign in the second making it 2-0.
St. Louis scored single runs in the third and fourth.
The Walkers tied it in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single from Mark Waterson off Kyle Kulig.
Former St. Louis pitcher Josh McDonald went the first 4.1 innings for the Sluggers, allowing two runs on seven hits. He walked one and didn't strike out a batter.
Frank Handley finished he fifth and worked a scoreless sixth.
After that, it was an inning apiece from Joe Wahl, Kulig and Tom Floria.
Kulig (6-4) blew the save but got the win.
Floria posted his 30th save.
