
Walkers news: Nov. 8 -- Manuel Coke is named National League MVP
St. Louis right fielder Manuel Coke has been named the National League Most Valuable Player, receiving 25 of a possible 26 first-place votes.
Coke, who also won his first Silver Slugger, batted .344 with 45 homers, 123 RBIs and 112 runs scored in 155 games.
His home runs and RBIs led the National League, as did his .640 slugging percentage.
The 25-year-old also got on base at a .388 clip.
The last St. Louis player to win the NL MVP was Nick Shaw in 2036.
Andrew Benintendi, who won the honor in 2019, is the only other River Walker to win the honor.
