2302 CBO Nuka Cup Preseason Tournament
Semifinals

County Crossing 7 at Atom 5
The County Crossing Bloodbugs came out swinging, taking a 5-0 1st-inning lead on their way to a 7-5 victory over the Atom Cats in Game One of the 2302 Nuka Cup Semifinals.
With the Cats' Copper Geffre on the mound, the Bugs wasted no time in taking the lead. Ajani Peacock led off with a single. With one out and Peacock on second after a steal, Babs Rooth went deep for a 2-0 lead. After Cy Thompson walked, Long Hall hit the second two-run homer of the inning, followed by Biter Trout's home run for the 5-0 advantage.
Rooth was the game's MVP, going 2 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, two runs, and three RBI.
Starlight 3 at University Point 2
The Starlight Lady Killers' Chris Schneier pitched 7.1 shutout innings, allowing just three hits with a walk and two strikeouts in earning the 3-2 victory over the University Point Deathclaws. Larry Undertaker pitched the 9th for the save despite giving up two runs in the inning.
The Claws managed only six hits on the day, all singles, and totaled 10 men on base. The Killers' Nick Maris was 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs, and an RBI.

Starlight 3 at University Point 8
The University Point Deathclaws did not wait until the 9th to score their first run, knocking in five in the bottom of the 2nd on their way to an 8-3 victory over the Starlight Lady Killers in Game Two of the Nuka Cup Semifinals.
Wilson Beachball also pitched a good game for the Claws, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Two of Starlight's three runs were unearned. Beachball also contributed at the plate, hitting an RBI double and scoring a run.
Jukebox Luttrell and Kory Richardson led the Claws in hitting with two hits apiece. Richardson had a solo home run, scored, and drove in three.
County Crossing 3 at Atom 1
The County Crossing Bloodbugs clinched a berth in the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament Finals with a 3-1 victory over the Atom Cats. Jared Zaccone pitched 6.1 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Cy Thompson and Ajani Peacock both led the team with two hits and a home run. Only Zaccone's single was the other player to get a hit for the Bugs.
Scruffy Taguchi had the loss, allowing two earned runs on two hits, both homers, in 5.0 innings.

County Crossing 5 at Atom 10
The Atom Cats had too little too late in the series but picked up a nice 10-5 win over County Crossing on their way to the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament Third Place Series.
Jake Doucette went off on the Bloodbugs, going 3 for 5 with a triple, a home run, two runs, and four RBI. Four Cats in all had 2+ hits, including starting pitcher Deedee Martinson who was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Earthbound Bussey was 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, a run, and an RBI.
Bugs' hitters Babs Rooth, Ajani Peacock, and Cy Thompson all stayed hot. Rooth doubled and homered in the game. Thompson also homered. Pinch hitter OK Dustin, who replaced Rooth, also added two hits.
Starlight 9 at University Point 1
The Starlight Lady Killers earned a trip to the Nuka Cup Finals with a big win over the University Point Deathclaws, 9-1. The Claws scored three in the 1st inning and never looked back.
In the top of the 1st, Nick Maris led off with a single off the Claws' Phlip Wallace. Jesus Church walked and David Seaweed hit into a fielder's choice to put runners at first and third. Zeldolph Violet then went deep with a three-run bomb for the 3-0 advantage. Violet finished the game 3 for 5 with two doubles, a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Church added three hits, including a two-run home run.
Starlight's Ray Human earned the victory, allowing just one earned run on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 5.0 innings. His one run allowed came when his former teammate, Tomas Jones, hit a second-inning bomb. Both players got their starts in Nordhagen Beach in the 2296 season.
