July 22-24, 2022: at Kansas City (3)

Game 1: 3-2 W (11). WP-Rogers (1-0). Starter-McClanahan (5 8 2 2 1 6). HR-Conforto (8), B.Lowe (16). The Rays trailed 2-1 going into the 9th when Randy Arozarena reached on an error, stole second, went to third on a fly ball and scored on a wild pitch, and then Brandon Lowe homered in the 11th to win it.

Game 2: 3-4 L. LP-Baz (2-3, 6 9 4 4 1 5). HR-Nootbaar (6). Baz was hit harder than normal and a 2-run Nootbaar homer in the 9th was too little, too late.

Game 3: 4-1 W. WP-Kluber (6-6, 6 3 1 1 3 3). S-Rogers (4). Michael Brantley's Rays debut was a smash success as his first-inning single with two out and nobody on led to a 2-run rally, he singled and scored again later, and threw out a runner at home plate. Lars Nootbaar singled him home twice.

Team record: 48-47, good enough for the second wild card at the moment. Next up: 4 games in Baltimore.
