The first season of baseball completed its first month of play with rave reviews and optimism even if there were expected obstacles along the way including inclement April weather.

Still in the first month of the season every club played their first game except for the New York and Washington clubs who will wait for better temperatures in May.

The Boston club played the most game with five going 3-2 with mixed reviews. Boston has been lead by George Wright who is 12 for his first 23 with 7 runs driven in. The very first home run in league history was smacked on the second day of the season was hit by Boston third baseman Ezra Sutton who will be a nice footnote in the history of the league.

At the top of the standings are the Fort Wayne Kekiongas who are 3-0. Quite simply the Fort Wayne team has played the best defense in the league thus far and George Bechtel is 8 for 13 at the plate with three doubles.

Chicago has also won their first two games scoring 39 runs combined. Al Pratt is not only doing it with his arm but he also leads the team with seven RBI and is hitting .500.

Baseball is here to stay.
