You can’t help but sound churlish saying this, and yet it needs to be said all the same: as great a season as this has been, it means next to nothing without the trophy and rings at the end of it. The group and the season they have put together deserves nothing less. Sadly, as the great Clint Eastwood’s character says in
Unforgiven, “deserve’s got nothing to do with it.” We are playing a fantastically talented Tigers side and will have to earn this the hard way – of this, I have no doubt.
