Better special teams. The ability to not have set positions and use 4 (or 5) forwards on the PP and it not have the forward(s) at the points produce far less than those up front. Or if there are set positions have them be bumper, net front, halfwall, point etc.

Also to see AI make better choices with who to use on the PP. So often you see the likes of Kopitar or Barkov not playing on their teams top PP unit because their role is set to two way or backchecking forward and a far lesser centre who has an offensive role gets the ice time over them. Same applies to dmen, I frequently see Hedman on the second unit in Tampa.

Edit: also a way to set awards criteria. McDavid wins the Hart in 3/4 of the seasons in most of my saves.
