I was surprised to see a high quality player (3.5 stars) in the rule 5 draft pool, when I went to look at what was going on, I saw that he was DFA'd because he had been received in trade that very day. The team gave up a decent-ish prospect for him and would not have intended to leave him exposed to the rule 5 draft, I'm assuming that whatever check the AI does to prevent leaving its good players exposed happens at the end of the previous day and so it doesn't catch players received in trade the day of the draft. I tested it out and the player is draftable and other AI teams will draft him, so this is a bug capable of causing teams to lose players for no reason.
