St. Louis scored once in the first inning and three times in the second and went on to defeat Green Bay 4-2 at PNC Stadium.
Manuel Coke hit his seventh home run of the season off Mallards starting pitcher Ernesto Tello in the top of the first inning to put the River Walkers ahead 1-0.
An inning later, Tello gave up a lead-off double to Mark Herman.
And with two outs, he allowed three straight batters to reach -- walks to Zach Wenman and Daylen Reyes sandwiched around a single by pitcher Ming Xiang -- as two more runs scored.
Xiang drove in a run with his single as did Reyes' bases-loaded walk.
Xiang (3-1) went 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He struck out six and didn't issue a walk.
He exited the game after giving up a run-scoring double to Sean Reed which made the score 4-2.
Ron Cox came on with runners on second and third and got Jackson Miller to fly out to end the inning.
Brett McVey (0.1 IP) and Hydajet Hysemi (0.2) combined on a scoreless eighth inning.
Craig Fritzler worked a scoreless ninth for his second save.
