Walkers news: May 1 -- Elbow injury will end season for Hyseni
St. Louis got just two appearances out of left-handed relief pitcher Hydajet Hyseni before an elbow will ended his season.
Hyseni last pitched on April 27 in a 3-1 loss to Green Bay. He left that contest with an elbow injury.
He will undergo ligament reconstruction surgery in the near future and is expected to miss up to nine months.
Hyseni, who St. Louis signed as a free agent in the off-season, pitched just 1.2 innings in his two games with St. Louis He had no record, struck out one batter and had a 0.60 WHIP.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis will be 40-year-old lefty Yelin Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has pitched in three games for the Redbirds. He has posted no record and worked five innings total.
In that time, he has posted a 0.80 WHIP and struck out one.
For his career, Rodriguez has pitched in 431 games at the major-league level, all in relief.
He has a 23-14 record with eight saves and a 3.15 ERA.
In 530.2 innings, he has struck out 408 batters and owns a 1.30 WHIP.
