Walkers news: May 4 -- Twin Cities 10, St. Louis 4
Record: 11-18, 7th, 6 GB Quad City and Kansas City
Twin Cities pounded St. Louis starting pitcher Kevin Hrdlicka for seven runs in less than four innings as the Snow Cats downed the River Walkers 10-4 at Target Field.
The victory gave the Cats wins in two of three games in the series.
The onslaught started early with Jonathan Knapp hitting a two-run homer and Jim Felde belting a solo shot in the bottom of the first to put Twin Cities up 3-0.
Felde drove in two more runs in the third with a two-out double off Hrdlicka to make it 5-0.
Danny Morrison belted a two-out, two-run double off Hrdlicka in the fourth as the lead reached 7-0.
The fun continued against the Walkers bullpen in the fifth when Victor Rosiles gave up solo homers to Mike Sartain and Pete Johnson.
They made it 9-0.
The Walkers tallied three times in the seventh -- Mark Herman drove in two of the runs with a single off Danny Patino -- but it didn't really matter.
Andy Dornfeld (2-2) held St. Louis scoreless over the first five innings. He struck out eight and walked two.
Four relievers, Craig Bigalow (1.1 IP), Danny Patino (1.2), Brandon Jollay (0.2) and Andres Alvarez (0.1), combined to finish out the game for Twin Cities.
