The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of shortstop Kerry Fackleman to a one-year contract.
Fackelman, 31, signed a contract worth $9.5 million for the remainder of the 2039 season.
The Walkers didn't intend to make the move, but when the re-signing of Daylen Reyes didn't pay off and the team got off to a horrible start, they opted to go after Fackleman.
Fackleman spent the 2038 season with Columbus, where he hit .303 with six homers and 57 RBIs in 151 games (145 starts).
For his career, Fackelman,who made it to the majors with Green Bay in 2028 and played there through 2036, is a .311 career hitter with 33 homers and 351 RBIs in 972 games (781 starts).
Fackelman will play a few games at AAA Memphis before joining the Walkers.
