There aren't enough players to support a "no duplicates" scenario. In all of MLB history, there have been about 20,000 players. With 7,000 teams currently in PT, that would leave only 3 players per team. Each historical player would have to have an average of 9 versions of himself, and that would result in almost every player in history being represented for every season - a massive and unnecessary change. Even if it was done, there would be no additional players to try and obtain at that point.
I understand the frustration of similar rosters, but in a world-wide game like this where you have thousands of teams, there simply isn't any way to get rid of duplicates.
