Welp...
For the first time in all the years of my various Rays saves, they're going to miss the playoffs. Twice they had leads in this games and twice they couldn't hold him as the game was a microcosm of their season. At about 97-98% to make the playoffs going into the final week they choked it away, losing 7 of their final 8 including today's game. Fortunately they didn't give up too much in the rental deals for the likes of Bell, Rogers and Merrifield and we get Tyler Glasnow back next year, but this turns out to be the worst Rays season since 2017, so good job me for managing this mess. Seattle will now travel to New York to face the Yankees in a wild card playoff round.
Minor League Playoff Update: AA Montgomery ending up falling in 7 games to Biloxi, but Durham holds a 2-1 lead in their best-of-5 opening round series with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The only catch is that in Game 4 SWB will have a rehabbing Gerrit Cole pitch for them so good luck Bulls.
