MY current league was quicker to set up and I think working out a little better I did a couple things different.
Things I did different.
Started regular season in 1894 instead of 1895 since there were a handful of players that played in 94 but missed the 95 season and played later on. Starting in 1894 captures those players.
In spring of 1895 (or just after season end) set rookie draft to 20 with random players from 1896-1900. This will capture all the players that debut between 1896-1900.
Spring of 1896, set rookie draft to 6 rounds or whatever number you usually
use and set random debut to 1901-present.
At seasons end of 1896 BEFORE rookie draft, delete all players that did not play in 1901 or later. Doing it at this time means you have a lot fewer players to go through. After doing this all the players in your league will have played IRL in 1901 or later and those stats will be used by the game. You may want to backup your league at this time also,
