May 25-27, 2046: vs Baltimore (3)

Game 1: Greg Bookhart was dominant and so was the offense as usual as the Rays took the opener at Publix Park from Baltimore 7-1 for their 9th straight win. Bookhart (5-0) was 6 4 0 0 1 8 and lowered his ERA to 2.66 in the process. Doug Johns drove in 3 with a couple of singles, Tony Cordova doubled and tripled and drove in a run, and Dan Gregory launched a solo homer (#4).

Game 2: The Rays took advantage of 4 Baltimore errors and extended their winning streak to double digits as they won 5-3. Doug Johns stayed hot by singling in a run and hitting a solo homer (#10) and Seth Williams had a key RBI double to make a winner of Marc Gibson for the 7th time this year against one loss. Gibson wasn't dominating but good enough at 5.1 8 1 1 1 4. Willie Minier recorded his 11th save despite allowing a solo homer.

Game 3
: Tampa Bay kept fighting back but ultimately succumbed 7-6 to the Orioles in 10 innings to see their win streak snapped at 10 in the series finale. Baltimore led 5-2 going into the bottom of the 8th before Luis Barela evened things up with a 3-run homer (#8), and then after the Orioles went back ahead in the 9th Seth Williams singled in a run in the Rays' half. But Satoshi Sato (0-1) gave up a 2-out run in the top of the 10th and although the Rays mounted a threat they couldn't equalize for a third time. Gordie Ager's run of fine starts came to an end after he went 4.2 6 5 5 1 4.

Team record: 37-14. Next up: We head out to Oakland for Memorial Day and a 4-game series.
