Final 2028 Regular Season Standings and Rays Stats

Luis Arraez won his 4th batting title in 5 seasons but it was with a pretty low .311 as only a handful of batters in either league hit .300 including our own Wander Franco. Ed Howard took the SB crown, leading MLB.

A look at the team stats:

An unusual Rays team in this save as we were great on offense, mediocre with pitching and terrible on defense. Interestingly the pitchers were actually good (1st in WAR), but the numbers were pedestrian because of the horrible defense. The batting stats:

Nice bounce-back year from Victor Robles, who would have earned 3 WAR had he not missed about 5-6 weeks, and JT Realmuto was outstanding in his time with us (he earned 3.9 WAR for the season including his time in Philly). Kelly Crumpton and Dom Scavone slumped over the last month or two. The pitchers:

As you can see we went through a lot of pitchers this year as we tried finding the right combo. Joe Ryan returned to giving up homers again, James Hays was very good but not the superhuman he was last year and outside of Pablo Lopez the new additions to the rotation didn't really get it done. The pitching will need to get somewhat hot if we want to make a deep run in the playoffs.
