Dom Scavone (whom I was thisclose to benching) went deep to lead off the bottom of the 5th to put them ahead to stay and added a key 2-run single in the 8th to provide insurance with the Rays' top relievers fatigued from Game 1's extra innings.
Matt Cronin made his postseason debut with 2 scoreless as the "B" pen kept Detroit off the board for the final 4 innings.
