I have thought about renaming places within the map. The thing is that I already have the map made for me, so I have mostly created my universe around the Fallout universe that exists. Even some of the families in my universe have taken their names based on the locations much like the Abernathys and Finches in game: the Somers, the Beaches, the Lynns, the Wattzes, and the Westings among others. I saw that I had made notes for some other families I forgot to incorporate, like the Quincys. I guess it's time to make my 2303 freshmen names chart!
In time, I may start to reshape parts of the map, maybe using characters from the story to rename those places. I agree that the Boston Police Rationing Site is not an apt name for the post-Apocalypse Commonwealth. However, anyone reading this who played the game will know exactly where that location is. I will also have to keep more notes on locations to get it right.
