First the good news, I agree with most everything you said about design and layout. Matter of fact, there's only two points where I beg to differ. (See below).

I like the cards, though I agree they could (and should) be improved to be more aesthetically pleasing. For me, the answer isn't getting rid of them, (as I think they add an important visual element, so the screens aren't just pure text, which is quite frankly, more than a little drab to look at all by itself).

First I should say, I use mods for 2D, so I'm not looking at the characterless boxes. Once again for me, watching the 'little players' move adds an important visual element to the simulation. (Though I'd like to see this improved as well, so that not every player shoots left for example).
To be perfectly honest, without 2D, I wouldn't have bought the game and I wouldn't be here. So if the goal is to sell more games and grow the community, I think there's room for both of us. And like you said, you tried 2D but didn't take to it, which is fine. The beauty being you don't
have to use it.
P.S. If I had to watch the box icons go back and forth, I'd go bonkers. Thank the stars for player mods!
