Is the only way for the historical lineups/transactions to truly be effective is by having Roster size to No Limit?

I notice if the roster limit is set it has some of the wrong players on the active roster.

I would love to leave the active roster at 25 and still have the rosters be accurate so teams aren't using the 17th guy out of the bullpen.
