Bill Pulsipher puts forth a strong outing going six innings to lead the Mets to victory. Pulsipher ended up getting a no decision, but his performance was still notable. Pulsipher only gave up three hits and struck out six batters. Pete Harnisch couldn’t preserve a 1-0 lead, but ended up getting the win. John Franco picked up his first save in his first appearance of the 1995 season striking out two in the ninth.

Every position player in the starting lineup for the Mets earned a hit in the game. Brett Butler earned yet another walk in the game. He’s been a walk machine in the leadoff spot for the Mets in the early season. Jeff Kent had two hits and scored a run late in the game to give some cushion. Kent upped his average to .286. Brogna raised his average to .409, as well. Carl Everett produced a multi hit game, as well and Ryan Thompson hit a two run homer.

Sammy Sosa goes hitless for the Cubs and has gone 0-7 in the series thus far. Mark Grace had two hits in the game and raised his average to .429. Jim Bullinger pitched six innings and struck out four to had a solid outing after a rough first appearance. Tom Edens suffered the loss by giving up three runs in 1 2/3IP.
