April 13th, 1995: @Chicago Cubs Pulsipher vs. Bullinger
Pulsipher gets out of the first despite a leadoff double. Butler ended up throwing out Davis trying to get to third on a fly ball to center.
Rico Brogna leads off the second with a triple to right and scores on a Jeff Kent groundout to second. Mets 1-0. Hundley throws out Sosa trying to steal second. Hundley is 4 for 9 throwing runners out thus far in the season.
Pulispher has started the year with nine scoreless innings. The streak comes to an end in the fourth inning when Mark Grace singles to score McRae and ties the game 1-1. Pulsipher goes nearly six innings giving up two runs on five hits with two strikeouts. It ends up being a tough loss for Pulsipher.
Rico Brogna had two hits including the triple from the second inning. Butler, Viz and Bonilla were a combined 0 for 11 at the top of the order. Todd Hundley finished 1 for 4. Jeff Kent also had a hit in three at-bats.
Pete Harnisch pitched an 1 1/3 innings, but it was a rough outing allowing six hits and three earned runs. His ERA ballooned to 10.12 on the year.
Cubs starting pitcher Jim Bullinger pitched six solid innings only giving up four hits and striking out five. Mark Grace went 3 for 4, Eric Davis went 3 for 4 and Brian McRae went 2 for 4 at the top of the order. Sosa broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth with a single. Jose Hernandez and Eric hit home runs in the seventh inning. Hernandez was a two run bomb.
