1871 Awards

In New York City after the completion of the season. The first professional baseball league had a celebration of sorts after a completed season against all odds that caught the imagination of the country.

The champion Washington Olympics were present and recieved their championship watches and their winning shares. Clipper Flynn also took in the World Series MVP trophy after he hit .500 in the four games with 11 hits.

The other formal awards were given out for the 1871 season. A vote by all team front office members decided the best pitchers in the league and the best overall players seen as most valuable.
