Walkers news: Sept. 6 -- Green Bay 6, St. Louis 1

Record: 73-64, 2nd, 4 GB Cedar Rapids
Green Bay's Alberto Landaverde hit a three-run homer off St. Louis starting pitcher Kevin Hrdlicka in the top of the third inning, snapping a 1-1 tie and powering the Mallards to a 6-1 win at Busch Stadium (2006).
Jordan Lawlar opened the inning with a single and when Devon Reyna walked there were two runners on bases for Landaverda.
He took a strike, but on the second pitch from Hrdlicka he unloaded smashing it 361 feet over the right-field wall for his 27th homer of the season and a 4-1 lead.
With Hrdlicka still on the mound, the Mallards added their final two runs in the sixth.
Hrdlicka retired the first two batters but then gave up three straight singles to Victor Solano, Jackson Miller and pitcher Matt Loest.
Loest's single drove in Solano.
He stayed in to face Jordan Lawlar, he doubled scoring Miller to make it 6-1.
Loest (10-6) worked 5.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits. He struck out one and walked one.
Jason Pappas finished the sixth and worked a scoreless seventh.
Chris Chrzan handled the eighth and got the first out of the ninth.
The final two outs went to Alex Duarte.
