Dayton starting pitcher Brian Budd and the Pilots bullpen combined to limit St. Louis to one hit in a 7-0 victory at Camden Yards (1992)/
Budd (6-13) held the River Walkers hitless until Rich Dodson doubled with two outs in the top of the sixth inning.
Budd got Tom Porter to ground out to end the inning.
He then exited the game, having allowed no runs on the one hit. He struck out three and walked three.
A trio of relievers, Moises Rodriguez, Tony Cardenas and Billy Lavala, all pitched an inning and didn't allow a base runner the rest of the way.
The game was scoreless into the bottom of the fifth when Dayton finally got something going against River Walkers starting pitcher Ming Xiang.
Ruben Cruz led off with a double and moved to third on a Mike Casebolt single.
After a flyout, Budd drove in the game's first run with a single.
Bobby Mullan followed that with a two-run double.
Dayton hit a pair of homers in the bottom of the seventh as it piled on four more runs.
Mark Dow opened the inning with a lead-off shot off Victor Roisles.
Alex Richards did the rest with a three-run homer off rookie Allan Almon.
