Sounds like a blast - one of my favorite parts of cruises is all the music they have on the ship as well. One cruise I met a piano lady that truly captured my heart, she had an amazing voice and could really tickle the keys, as well as being drop dead gorgeous. On the last night of the cruise she thanked me for coming to listen to her every night and she said that I was one of the best fans that she's ever had.
I've never been on a Viking River cruise. I've been on one Carnival (Victory), 4 Royal Caribbeans (Jewel of the Seas 3x, Freedom of the Seas), and one Norwegian (Gem).
