Walkers news: Sept. 17 -- St. Louis 8, Louisville 4, Game 1

Record: 79-67, 2nd, 1 GB Cedar Rapids
St. Louis had two big innings -- a three-run fourth and a four-run eighth -- to power its way to an 8-4 win over Louisville in the opening game of a doubleheader at Busch Stadium (2006).
Down 1-0, the River Walkers scored three times in the bottom of the fourth off Sluggers starting pitcher Josh McDonald on three singles and a walk.
The first run scored when there were bases loaded with one out.
Mark Herman hitting a grounder to the first base to score Manuel Coke from third.
Mike Vaughan followed with a two-run single to give St. Louis a 3-1 lead.
It's lead at 4-3, Manuel Coke had hit a solo homer off McDonald in the sixth, the Walkers busted out after a rain delay stopped play with one out in the bottom of the eighth.
Coke got it rolling with a two-out solo homer -- his second of the game and 46th of the season.
It came off Louisville reliever Bryan Bohan.
And the Walkers kept on rolling.
Nick Shaw reached on an error by Victor Archuleta.
Joe Allen followed with a double before a walk to Mark Herman loaded the bases.
Vaughan then cleared the bags with a double, giving him five RBIs for the game. and St. Louis an 8-3 lead.
Walkers starting pitcher Miguel Cisenros (6-7) went 5.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits. He struck out three and walked the same.
Cisneros exited the game with runners on second and third.
Leo Hermosillo got pinch-hitter Pete Crow-Armstrong to fly out to end the inning.
Hermosillo also recorded the first out of the seventh.
Chris Willett finished off the seventh.
Victor Rosiles got the first out of the eighth and was responsible for allowing two runs to score.
Brett McVey completed the eighth without allowing another run to score.
Rookie Allen Almon allowed three straight batters to reach bases to open the ninth.
Alex Rios came on to finish the game, not allowing the Sluggers to get any closer than 8-4, earning his second save.
