Walkers news: Sept. 18 -- St. Louis 6, Louisville 2

Record: 81-67, 1st, 0.5 GA Cedar Rapids
St. Louis jumped out to a 3-0 lead with some early offense and went on to defeat Louisville 6-2 at Busch Stadium (2006).
The victory gave the River Walkers a sweep of the three-game series.
It also moved them a half-game in front of Cedar Rapids in the National League South Division standings.
Daniel Lopez scored the game's first run after drawing a lead-off walk from Sluggers starter Cole Duensing in the bottom of the first.
A bunt by Tom Porter moved Lopez to second.
He scored on a single by Nick Shaw.
In the next inning, Kerry Fackelman drew a one-out walk from Duensing.
Pitcher Xavier Wigfall then reached on a throwing error by catcher Joe Connel.
Lopez brought Fackelman across the plate with a fly ball to left.
Wigfall then scored when Louisville third baseman Brice Mills booted a ball hit by Tom Porter, as the St. Louis lead grew to 3-0.
A pair of Sluggers runs off Wigfall in the third did make it 3-2.
But St. Louis answered with a run in the bottom of the third.
Duensing issued a pair of one-out walks and the Sluggers third error of the game -- this one by second baseman Chris Zoltan -- loaded the bases.
Wigfall got down a bunt to score Mark Herman as St. Louis went ahead 4-2.
The Walkers got the game's final two runs in the seventh against the Louisville bullpen.
Ludo Enrigue gave up singles to three of the inning's first four batters -- the third single by Mike Vaughan scored Nick Shaw, who had led off with a single -- making it 5-2.
Mark Herman scored the inning's second run when pinch-hitter Nolan Gorman reached on the Sluggers fourth error of the game.
It was committed by Mills, his second of the game.
Wigfall (5-7) went 6.1 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits. He struck out eight and walked two.
Leo Hermosillo finished the seventh for St. Louis.
The eighth and ninth belonged to Frank Jimenez and Chris Willett, respectively.
