Walkers news: Sept. 22 -- St. Louis 3, Ann Arbor 0, 10 innings

Record: 83-70, 2nd, 2 GB Cedar Rapids
Scoreless through nine innings, St. Louis' Jose Roman hit a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to highlight a three-run outburst as the River Walkers defeated Ann Arbor 3-0 at Crosley Field (1958).
After pitching a scoreless ninth, reliever Kyle Gatti returned to the mound for the 10th for the Wolf Pack.
He walked Mike Vaughan to open the inning then gave way to Tom Halverson.
The right-hander struck out Kerry Fackelman for the first out.
But in a 0-1 count, Roman turned on a pitch and powered it 439 feet over the left-field wall for his eighth homer and a 2-0 lead.
The Walkers were not done.
Rich Dodson connected on his third hit of the game, a single.
He was eliminated when Mark Herman hit into a fielder's choice.
Ryan Lodge replaced Halverson.
Manuel Coke greeted him with a double to make it 3-0.
Walkers starter Kevin Hrdlicka went 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits. He struck out nine and walked one while throwing 92 pitches.
Wolf Pack starter Josh Walker tossed seven shutout innings. He allowed four hits while striking out five and did not issue a walk.
After Hrdlicka left, the Walkers used five relievers.
Brett McVey got the first call and finished the sixth and got the first out of the seventh.
Leo Hermosillo finished off the seventh for St. Louis.
Alex Rios (0.2 IP) and Kyle Smarr (0.1) combined on a scoreless eighth.
Closer Craig Fritzler (4-3) earned the win after pitching two scoreless innings.
