MBL news: Oct. 2 -- Rockford down Quad Cities to claim NL North crown
The Rockford Lightning defeated the Quad Cites Thunder 6-2 on the final day of the season to claim the National League Division title by a single game over second-place Milwaukee.
The Crushers also won their season-finale 3-1 over Chicago but trailed Rockford by a game going into the season's final day.
Rockford finished the season 89-73, one game better the Milwaukee.
It is the third division title for the Lightning, the others coming in 2033 and 2036.
