Walkers news: April 4 -- Green Bay 7, St. Louis 1

Record: 0-2, 6th, 2.5 GB Louisville
Ernesto Tello pitched six shutout innings and Alberto Landaverde homered twice to lead Green Bay to a 7-1 win over St. Louis at PNC Park.
Tello (1-0) allowed just two hits over his six-shutout innings. He struck out five and walked two.
The Mallards jumped in front with a run in the bottom of the second inning off River Walkers starting pitcher Kevin Hrdlicka.
Blaze Jordan led off the inning with a single.
Jordan stole second and moved to third on a Conrad Perry ground out.
A Hrdlicka wild pitch brought Jordan across the plate.
Joel Petrucci hit his first homer of the season, it came off Hrdlicka, in the sixth to make it 2-0.
Landaverde belted his first long ball of the season and game in the sixth.
The two-run shot made it 4-0 and sent Hrdlicka to the shower.
The Walkers got their lone run in the seventh on a homer by Jose Segura off reliever Sam Brousseau.
Green Bay broke the game open in the bottom of the eighth.
Landaverde hit a two-run homer off Kyle Smarr for the first two runs.
Pinch-hitter Marty Lizardo later connected on a run-scoring single off Alex Rios.
Brousseau pitched the seven for the Mallards, allowing the lone St. Louis run.
Matt Wilson handled the eighth.
Andy Carruthers struck out the side in the ninth.
