Games
May was a bit of a rough month for us with the side going 13-14 including getting swept at Houston, dropping 2 of 3 to the Mets, Blue Jays, Red Sox but we finished may strong with a sweep of Houston at home and taking 2 of 3 against Oakland.
We finish May 2.5 games behind the Angels (30-20) with our 27-22 record and we are half a game back from the Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card.
On the player front, we welcomed Kyle Lewis and Julio Rodriguez back to the squad. JP Crawford had an absolutely stellar May with the bat. He batted .409 ABG and went 38 from 93 with 3 HR and 17 and both Rodriguez and Kelenic hit 7 HRs.
Batting Stats
On the pitching side of things, Gilbert and Flexen got beaten up but nowhere near as bad as Tommy Malone who pitched 2 innings in relief and got smacked for 9 hits and 7 earned runs.

Transactions
Well after his dreadful showing, Malone was DFA'd, didn't want to be demoted and no one would trade for him, the decision was made to release Malone.
We need a player who can do a bit of everything, 2B, SS and maybe a little outfield and we were very lucky as Mauricio Dubon became available on Waivers. A claim was lodged and he joined us on May 6th with 2B Dylan Moore being assigned to AAA Tacoma.
Only one trade from us this month with 1B Mike Ford being traded to the Cardinals for 24 year old LF Lars Nootbaar who we will play at AAA Tacoma until roster expansion where Nootbaar will play as an RF to fill the void left by Haniger if he leaves during Free Agency at Season's end.
