Well, if we thought may was bad, June was an unmitigated disaster from both a game stand point and an injury stand point. Where do I begin?

We lost 11 of the first 12 games for the month of June. Through the month we were swept by Baltimore twice, Houston twice and the Red Sox once. Our record for the month was a disgraceful 8-21 with those wins coming against Oakland (3 of 4), Los Angeles Angels (3 of 5), Texas and Minnesota (1 of 3).

Our bats were quiet in June with only two players (France and Rodriguez) have an average of more than .300 with the latter scoring 17 runs in the month.

Batting Stats for June

Was an equally rough month for our pitchers with not one Starter having an ERA under 3.00 for the month. Ray, Kirby, Brash and Flexen all had an ERA of greater than 6.00 with Ray giving up 29 hits and 8 home runs in just 17.0 innings. Thankfully he got injured had finished the month on 15-Day IL.

Pitching Stats for June

Bright spots for the month? None. We have gone from 27-22 at the end of May to 35-43 and find ourselves in 3rd in the AL West, 16 games back from the Angels and somehow only 2.5 behind the 36-39 Astros.....

Transactions
Started the month by looking at my 3B options and deciding to ship off Toro to Texas and got 24 year old SP Kolby Allard and 23 year old 2B Trevor Hauver in return. Both are decent prospects and will hopefully be ready for AAA during the year.

Frazier (2B) and White (1B) started rehab assignments in AAA and with his form in a real slump, Jesse Winker was Optioned to Tacoma AAA with Lars Nootbaar getting called up in his place.

To round out the month, Lewis (Calf strain - 3 weeks) and France (broken bone in elbow - 7 months) ended up on the 10 day IL and 60 day IL respectively.

Can we have a bit of a better July? God, I hope so!
