Well, after what can only be described as a s***house June, as GM I had to make some changes and get this club back on track and try to either take back first place (16 game deficit) or work on securing one of the three Wildcards.

Well, anything would have been better than June but here we are after June with a 16-9 record where we managed to swept the Nationals in DC and the Astros in Seattle while taking 3 out of 4 from the Astros in Houston and 4 of 7 from Texas along with some wins over the Blue Jays, Padres and Athletics.

Across the batters, we had an even spread of runs and hits. Rodriguez and Kelenic batted .376 and .330 for the month and a WAR of 2.0 and 1.8 respectively and both hit 8 home runs.

Pitching in July was much better than June with our only starter having an ERA of 4.00 being Matt Brash who is now having a spell in AAA and the Bullpen did an excellent job of keeping the game in our favour.

So, we had a very active July as we shipped off some bigger names who just weren't justifying there spot in the organisation.

July 9 - CCal Raleigh was sent to the Arizona Diamondbacks for LHP Joe Mantiply, 18 year old 3B Manuel Pena and 19 year old Luis Gonzalez. When Arizona approached me with this deal it was a no-brainer. Mantiply is a great addition to our bullpen for the rest of the season and Pena is a 3B that in the 2021 Rookie League for the Diamondbacks was hitting .253 with a WAR of 2.4 and will be a nice piece of the puzzle in the future.

July 10 - The Seattle Mariners get 24 year old 2B Pedro Leon (who becomes our #7 Prospect) and 22 year old 3B Justin Williams for CF Mitch Haniger who heads to Houston. Yep, Haniger is out of Seattle to our division rivals and that did come back to haunt us when he hit a walk-off HR in Houston, first game against us but he was a free agent at season's end and I have Kelenic, Lewis, Nootbarr and Rodriguez in the outfield who are all producing better numbers with the bat than Haniger.

July 22 - As stated before, I had my outfielders set and Winker wasn't producing with the bat so we traded him across to the Phillies for 23 year old C Rafael Marchan and 25 year old RHP James McArthur in return. McArthur is now out #16 Prospect in Triple AAA and Marchan will be a great backup catcher next season.

July 31 - Heading into Deadline Day, we need to upgrade a Defence at both C and 2B to finish the season. The first trade was we picked up C Roberto Perez from the Pirates for a Minor League prospect.

Then after that C Luis Torrens went to the Twins for 24 year old RF Matt Wallner which freed up the roster space for us to trade a Minor League 1B to the Reds for 2B Donovan Solano who will just be a rental until seasons end.

And to finish of the Deadline Day, we shipped 2B Adam Frazier to the Blue Jays for 24 year old LF Samad Taylor. Both Taylor and Wallner will be in our minor system and be available should one of our outfielders head to the IL.
