I've never had this happen before
Got a random debut going that I started in 1904. I'm using 1987 as my base year. I'm in September of 1905 and the NL race is insane. 4 teams, Brooklyn, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are tied for 1st place. Philadelphia is a 1/2 game back and the New York Giants are a 1 game back. I've never had a race like this in all my years of playing.
The AL is a two team race. The defending champion Boston Americans are tied with the St. Louis Browns. Cool thing is, both teams feature players that could take home league MVP honors. The Americans have Stan the Man Musial. Stan is hitting around .343 and just went over the 100 rbi mark for the season. The Browns feature Jared Walsh. Walsh is hitting .352 on the season. Jared had a rough August that seen his average drop from around .375 into the .340's, but he seems to have righted the ship now.
87 is a wild ride. Lots of home runs. I'm enjoying it so far.
