Once again the AL All-Star Team is better known as "Tampa Bay Rays and friends", at least in terms of the lineup:
It is Riley and Bocardo's first appearance, Barela's 8th, Castillo and Saro's 2nd, Crater's 6th (first as a Ray) and Johns' 4th. Former Rays on the squads: AL: Vega, Mendez, Zerman; NL: Robinson, Williams, Zamora, Quintana, Leonard, Mathias.
The HR Derby:
This save was started when we had that weird glitch in the Derby where nobody hardly hits any homers, hence the low scores. Still waiting for a Ray to win this thing, Barela at least made the 2nd round.
The game itself:
The AL might have been blown out, but don't blame the Rays. All four hitters had at least one hit, including a Jose Castillo homer and a Luis Barela RBI double. Bob Riley, despite pitching Sunday, got into the game and got two outs on only two pitches by starting a 1-6-3 double play in the 9th.
