JIMMIE FOXX CLAIMED BY FIRST PLACE CUBBIES
The
Chicago Cubs have been a surprise early on, sitting on top of the National League with a
32-19 record. The Cubbies sit in the 2nd slot of this week's power rankings as well, just behind the
American League's
Cleveland Indians.
The Cubs made a small splash by picking
Jimmie Foxx off waivers from the
Boston Red Sox. Although the Cubs aren't expecting the Jimmie from just two seasons ago in which he hit 36 HR, while driving in 119 runs... the Cubs would be happy with anything that's somewhere in between.
Foxx is currently hitting .288 with 2 HR & 20 RBI through the first two months. Foxx is a future Hall of Famer, who has 521 career home runs and a lifetime .331 batting average.
