Walkers news: August 23 -- St. Louis 10, Des Moines 4

Record: 60-69, 5th, 7 GB Cedar Rapids
Kevin Hrdlicka took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and St. Louis scored 10 runs over the first six innings as they downed Des Moines 10-4 at Minute Maid Park.
Hrdlicka didn't allow a hit until Justin Oates hit a solo homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh.
It made the score 10-1.
An inning later, pinch-hitter Jaime Sanders hit a two-run home run to hasten Hrdlicka's exit.
In his seven-plus innings, Hrdlicka (10-8) allowed three runs on three hits. He struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter.
The River Walkers did the bulk of their scoring in the top of the second (five runs) and third (three runs) to seize an 8-0 advantage.
Harvesters starting pitcher Raul Rivas took the bulk of the damage, allowing all of the second-inning runs and two of those which scored in the third.
The St. Louis' second-inning outburst featured six straight batters reaching base after the inning opened with a strikeout.
Adam Stewart drove in the first run with a bases-loaded single.
Hrdlicka plated the next two with another single.
Josh Hurley wrapped it up with a double.
In the third, Nick Shaw led off the inning with a double.
He scored on a Quiang Chang single, which chased Rivas.
Martin Lopez took over and was greeted by a two-run homer by Mark Waterson.
The Walkers final two runs came in the fourth -- Chang with an RBI single off Lopez -- and sixth -- Shaw singled with one out off Roman Watson and scored on a Waterson ground out -- as their lead grew to 10-0.
Chris Willett relieved Hrdlicka in the eighth and finished the inning without incident.
He returned for the ninth and gave up three hits which led to a run.
Curt Donaldson recorded the final three outs of the game.
