The Mets Get On The Board!
In real life, it was Jay Hook who got the very first win in Mets history. For this version of the Mets, they got that win one game sooner.
After an embarrassing 10-0 loss to the Pirates in the 2nd game of the year, the Mets bounced back to pick up their first ever win behind the pitching of Roger Craig. Roger wasn't great, but his 7.1 innings were good enough to get the Mets a 9-4 win.
Other than the obvious first win, there were a few other firsts in this one (none in that 10-0 disaster!)-
First triple- Jim Hickman
First HR- Ed Bouchee
First Save- Clem Labine
