Matt Adams pitched five scoreless innings and three relievers combined to handle the final four as Madison edged St. Louis 1-0 in both team's season finale at Busch Stadium (2006).
The victory was the second in a row for the Muskies to complete the three-game series.
Madison finished the season 69-93 and in sixth place in the National League North Division, some 34 games behind first-place Rockford.
The River Walkers wrapped up their season at 73-89 and in fifth place in the NL South Division. They trailed division winner Cedar Rapids by 14 games in the final standings.
A lead-off homer in the top of the fourth inning by the Muskies' Tyler Hamilton off St. Louis starting pitcher Juan Farias accounted for the game's lone run.
Adams (2-2) scattered six hits in his five innings. He struck out three and didn't walk a batter.
Alexander Dowling worked a scoreless sixth for the Muskies.
Bryant Adler handled both the seventh and eighth.
Maurice Moreno completed the shutout to earn his 35th save.
