Still undefeated this postseason...
The Rays used a couple of big homers to take a somewhat ugly 7-5 win over the Cardinals in the World Series opener at Publix Park. Seth Williams' 3-run shot in the 3rd gave them a lead they'd never relinquish, and Luis Barela's 2-run blast in the 5th proved to be the difference as they survived giving up 14 hits and a couple of unearned runs to win. Gordie Ager struggled with traffic all night, and Dave Rose nearly let St. Louis all the way back, but Abelaldo Gray and Satoshi Sato, who will be big in this series with St. Louis' lefty hitters, preserved the lead without incident.
