Game 6: Boston Americans vs. Chicago White Sox
Make that 3 in a row for Boston! While Chicago jumped out to an early lead, the Americans battled back to tie the score in the 6th inning and took the lead for good in the 8th inning.
Cy Young (1-1) picked up the complete game win; scattering 8 hits and allowing 1 earned run. Despite pitching a respectable game, Willie Sudhoff (1-1) was saddled with the loss due to the poor fielding of LF John Anderson (2 errors) and 3B Pat Dillard (1 error).
Each team had 8 hits on the day, with Boston led by Frank Chance (2 for 5, double with 2 runs) and Kid Elberfeld (2 for 4, 2 rbi). For Chicago, Mike Grady (3 for 4, triple, 2 runs) and Harry Bay (2 for 5) were the top hitters.
Player of the Game: Cy Young (Season: #1 / Career: #1)
