January 1: The Hall of Fame voting is in:
Congrats to Christian Little, whose #43 we retired after many years of being our ace from the mid-late-20s through the mid-30s. Little fanned a whopping 3221 batters in only 2222 career IP, or 13.0/9. He won 3 Cy Youngs, 7 strikeout titles and led the AL in ERA and WAR twice.
January 10: Willie Minier, our closer the last 2 1/2 years, signed a 3/ deal with the Rockies. Good luck in Coors, Willie.
And in big Rays news, we signed his replacement, who I've coveted for a while now:
Falcon has 80 stuff, 70 movement and 55 control and earned an impressive 3.2 WAR as a reliever last year with the Nats. Our bullpen is extraordinarily deep now.
