May 4-6, 2048: at NY Yankees (2)

Game 1: The Rays got a rare good start from Caleb Ramos, whose rotation spot was hanging by a thread, to beat the Yankees 5-1 in the series opener at the Stadium. Ramos (2-1) was an outstanding 6.1 4 0 0 1 7 for the win. Vinny Rodriguez was 2-3 with a pair of doubles, a steal and an RBI while Nelson Bocardo and Doug Johns each had 2 hits and a run batted in.

Game 2: Greg Bookhart was hit hard and the Rays dropped the second game 9-6 to the Yankees. The lefty suffered his first loss at 3-1 after a rough 3.1 6 6 6 2 3 outing with a couple of homers allowed. The offense tried to keep up with a solo homer from Yuji Morioka (#7) and a 2-run Luis Barela blast (#7).

Game 3: The Rays snapped back and won 10-6 to take the series from New York. A 5-run 5th broke it open and was highlighted by a 2-run Dave Frick homer (#2). Yuji Morioka drove in a pair with two hits and Luis Barela and Doug Johns were each 3-5 with an RBI. Bob Riley started and wasn't his best, but went to 5-1 after going 6 8 4 4 0 2.

Team record: 25-7. Next up: An off-day then finally back home for 3 vs Minnesota.
