October 28, 2024: World Series Game 4

As I was saying, it's gonna be a long series...

The Rays couldn't get the pitching tonight and lost a pair of leads and the game 7-3 to the Phillies as the World Series is now knotted at 2. Curtis Mead homered again to make it 1-0, and then Ozzie Albies delivered an RBI single to put the Rays up 3-2 in the 5th but Luis Patino immediately surrendered a 2-run homer to Keston Hiura in the bottom of the inning and it snowballed from there. Carlos Rodon was taken deep by JT Realmuto once again, and JP Feyereisen really let it get out of hand in the 7th. And the news got even worse for Rodon: right after coming back from a UCL tear he tore it again tonight on his final pitch which saw him record his 6th strikeout in 2 innings. He'll miss 10 months this time so at best we get him back for September next year. John Swanda will get the call as we'll hope for a repeat of Game 1 tomorrow night and now we know we'll be heading back to the Trop to play some baseball. The Rays' M.O. this postseason has been putting themselves in a position where they need to win the last two, and that's where they'll be if they don't win Game 5.
