Advantage Rays...
The Rays, especially Lorenzo Cain (5 hits) and Randy Arozarena (4), had their hitting shoes on tonight as they routed the Phillies 11-2 on 19 hits to move within one game of a world championship heading back to St. Petersburg. Philly actually led 1-0 after 2 as John Swanda's first-inning jitters continued with wild-pitching in a run but Mr. October struck again as Arozarena drilled a 3rd-inning leadoff homer to tie it up and the Rays unloaded from there. By the time the dust settled Cain had tied an AL record for hits in a playoff game, Curtis Mead (bidding for World Series MVP) homered yet again and doubled, and Arozarena had 3 more safeties. Swanda settled in and dominated, and now Drew Rasmussen will try to improve on his abysmal Game 2 outing and bring home the Rays' first ever championship.
